What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), more commonly known as an eye lift, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the eyelids. Surgery can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both.
Whether desiring an improved appearance or experiencing functional problems, eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the area surrounding the eyes.
Eyelid surgery may successfully treat these conditions:
- Excess, loose or sagging skin that creates unsightly folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision
- Fatty deposits appearing as puffiness in the eyelids
- Bagginess and drooping of lower eyelids, revealing white below the iris
- Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid
